Meet Your Hosts
The owners Lyle and Lily are an American/Peruvian couple, with Lily being originally from Lima Peru and Lyle from California USA. The couple met while living in Las Vegas where Lily was working as a banker and Lyle was working as an Industrial Engineer. They were married in 2006 and in 2012 they decided to make a change and moved to Lily’s home country of Peru. After looking at several locations they decided on the small village of Huarocondo to open GringoWasi bed and breakfast, which has become the perfect blend of a typical Andean village with some gringo comforts and the rest as they say is history.
At GringoWasi we care about our guests and we make every effort to ensure that every guest enjoys their stay to the fullest, so if you are planning a trip the the Cusco region, we invite you to check us out, we will make every effort to ensure that your visit to the Cusco Region is one that you will never forget.
GringoWasi is located one block from the main plaza in the small town of Huarocondo, which is located in a beautiful valley just 30 minutes from the city of Cusco. Our 2 story home offers 5 separate guest rooms with a variety of prices and amenities, a large common room for relaxing, an inviting patio, and separate dining room. Guests can also enjoy complimentary bag storage, Wi-Fi throughout most of the property, 24 hour hot water, DVD library for guest use and a smoke free environment.
Our beautiful valley is an excellent place to relax and do nothing after doing one of the popular treks, or to take a hike along one of the many roads or trails in the area. One walk that has been popular with our guests is to visit the Andenes Zurite to the South; these Incan terraces are an easy 1-1/2 to 2 hour walk along a mainly level and rarely traveled dirt road. For those with a bit more energy there is a lake roughly 3 hours to the North West which is the largest lake in the Cusco region and also known locally as a hot spot for unusual (UFO) activity.
