GringoWasi 4 Day Hill Top and Machu Picchu Itinerary
Price: $397.00 per-person, double occupancy
Day 1 – You will be picked up in Cusco and transported to Huarocondo for check in at GringoWasi, you will then have the remainder of the day to relax or explore the town and valley, followed by dinner in the evening.
Day 2 – You will start the day with a hearty breakfast and then Depart for your first stop of the day Chinchero, on the way you will pass the largest lake in the Cusco region (Lake Huaypo) which is said to be a hot spot for unusual (UFO) activity. In Chinchero you will visit a weaving center where you can see traditional spinning, dyeing and weaving as well as purchase a variety of hand made products, there is also a large colonial church that was constructed on top of the Incan site, and of course there are terraces to explore. The next stop will be the Salt Mines of Maras, here you will see over 1,000 pools where the residents of Maras harvest salt, and where Salt has been harvested since the days of the Inka. After the salt mines you will take a short drive to Moray; there are several theories as to the purpose that these circular terraces served, from UFO landing sites to an Incan agricultural laboratory. The last stop of the day is Ollantaytambo where you can relax and enjoy a drink or dinner before boarding your 7:00 pm train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes you will you will check-in to to the Hotel where you will spend the night.
Day 3 – After breakfast you will have two options, start the hike from Aguas Calientes to the Machu Picchu entrance, or proceed to the bus terminal to purchase your bus ticket and then board a bus that will take you to the entrance. Once at the entrance you can Hire a guide or enter the site on your own and explore the ancient citadel. At the end of the day you will have to be at the train station by 6:30 pm to board your 7:00 pm train, the train will take you back to Ollantaytambo where you will be met by our driver who will then return you to Huarocondo arriving at approximately 10:00 pm.
Day 4 – Morning breakfast followed by transfer back to Cusco.
Note: On day two we do make time for lunch, we do not include lunch with our tours so that you can choose what, when and where you want to eat that day.
