GringoWasi 7 Day Incan Explorer Itinerary
Price: $669.00 per-person, double occupancy
Day 1 – You will be picked up in Cusco and transported to Huarocondo for check in at GringoWasi, you will then have the remainder of the day to relax or explore the town and valley, followed by dinner in the evening.
Day 2 – After breakfast in the morning you will be transported to Cusco where you will visit the Sites on the hill above the city (Saqsaywaman, Q’enqo, Tambomachay and Puka Pukara), and will have a private guide for Saqsaywaman. After visiting these sites you will be dropped at Plaza Regocijo in Cusco where you will have the rest of the day to explore this historic city on your own. In the evening you will be picked back up from Plaza Regocijo at 6:00pm and transported back to GringoWasi for dinner.

Day 3 – After a hearty breakfast you will depart at 8:00 am for the Sacred Valley, your first stop will be the living Incan city of Ollantaytambo, where you will have a private guided tour, then after visiting the site of Ollantaytambo we will head East through the Sacred Valley and make a stop at the Inkariy Museum, here you will see exhibits centered around 8 different Peruvian cultures. Next is the archaeological site of Pisac, here again you have a private guided tour. Your last stop (time permitting) is the Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary, here you will see many different Peruvian animals including the Andean Condor, then you will return to GringoWasi to relax and enjoy a quiet dinner.

Day 4 – Today you will depart after breakfast but this time to the East, with the first stop being Pikillacta; this is a pre-Inca site, originally occupied by the Wari civilization and thought to be used as a government or ceremonial center. You then will travel to the Church of San Pedro in Andahuaylillas, this church is often referred to as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas, next to the church you can also visit a small museum that houses several interesting mummies and skulls as well as the famous “alien baby skeleton”. The last stop of the day is Tipon, an Inca site thought to be an Inca water worship site, after this you will return to GringoWasi for dinner.
Day 5 – After breakfast you will depart for Lake Huaypo which is the largest lake in the Cusco region and also known to be a hot spot for UFO activity. You will then continue on to Chinchero an Andean weaving community where you will visit a local weaving cooperative and be shown the traditional process of spinning, dying and weaving, next you will visit the local church and terraces. After this you will then descend to the Salt Mines of Maras where salt has been harvested since the Inca times. The last site of the day is Moray where you will enjoy the unique circular terraces of this site, after which you will descend to Ollantaytambo where you will be dropped off for your 7:00 pm train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes you will check-in to the hotel where you will spend the night.
Day 6 – After breakfast you will have two options, start the hike from Aguas Calientes to the Machu Picchu entrance, or proceed to the bus terminal to purchase your bus ticket and then board a bus that will take you to the entrance. Once at the entrance you can Hire a guide or enter the site on your own and explore the ancient citadel. At the end of the day you will have to be at the train station by 6:30 pm to board your 7:00 pm train, the train will take you back to Ollantaytambo where you will be met by our driver who will then return you to Huarocondo arriving at approximately 10:00 pm.
Day 7 – Morning breakfast followed by transfer back to Cusco.
Note: On each day of tours we do make time for lunch, we do not include lunch with our tours so that you can choose what, when and where you want to eat each day.
